Peggy photoshoot

First off, apologies for having a half-finished FAQ Friday post up here Friday/Saturday! I had scheduled it to post Friday but never got around to finishing it, and forgot to move it. I’ll try to finish it up for this Friday!

Friday evening Chase & I did a quick photoshoot of my Peggy costume. We started out with the standard white backdrop shots:

Got some shots with my briefcase I made for Dragoncon; I was generally lazy with it and didn’t want to carry it often at the con.

These pictures have REALLY made me realize I need to take the whole jacket up. I need to bring in the bust darts in the front to they curve a bit more, and take in the waist so the area around the belt doesn’t wrinkle up. Also never noticed how baggy the sleeves are. Honestly the whole thing will be quite a bit of surgery and it’s a little daunting, after I put so much work into last year. I’ll try to tackle it this spring.
I also want a new wig. I’ve decided lace fronts suck LOL They take too much time to put on and most of them don’t fit my tiny head right. I may play with this one a little more and see what comes of it…

Anyway after we finished the normal shots, we thought it would be fun to try some 40s-style portrait photos. Chase redid all the lighting and we shot a few. Here’s my fav:

I loooooove how it came out.

Other thoughts…
I got new makeup I used in this photoshoot! Chase got me the Besame red lipstick they used on Agent Carter, so there’s that. I don’t see much of a tonal difference between it and the MAC Russian Red I was previously using (the Russian Red may have a litlte more of a blue tone?), but the Besame is much easier to take off without looking like I have Kool-Aid face.
The other “new thing” I used some powder called “Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.” I had read interesting reviews on it a few months ago and Chase remembered it and got it for me for Christmas! I honestly wasn’t expecting much – beyond having a really nice powder – but it really did work very well for photos, and did what was promised – softened and diffused the light. I could tell a subtle but definite difference in the photos this time around.
It was expensive so it’s definitely not for everyday use, it’ll only be for costumes, but I look forward to using it again!

Anyway those are up in my portfolio now. Yay!
